It is impossible for me to express in words the gratitude I owe to God for leading me to find Christian Science, through which we have already experienced so many blessings.
For years I was afflicted with an intestinal complaint, which became so severe that I could no longer attend to my household duties alone. The complaint became so aggravated that day and night I suffered the severest nervous spasms. After we had tried, one after the other, the local doctors, both allopathists and homeopathists, without success, we decided to consult a specialist for intestinal troubles. After months of treatment his efforts, too, proved fruitless. A gynecologist, whom I then consulted, detained me at once in his clinic in order to operate on me the next day. After this operation I returned home a fortnight later worse in health than before; and in four weeks I was obliged to undergo another major operation.
The fourth specialist whom I consulted said that the trouble was incurable, and that it would be possible for me to live only if I were to exercise great will-power and observe a strict diet.
