Christian Science came into my life over twenty-six years ago through the healing of a relative who was spending some months with us. The healing was so quick that it prompted me to borrow a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to begin reading and studying it together with the Bible. With small children there came many opportunities to put into practice what I was learning. Colds, severe cuts, toothache, fevers, measles, whooping cough, and scarlet fever were all quickly met, some with no other help than that of the study of Science and Health. All our children were placed in the Sunday school.
One early healing for myself was that of the effects of freezing. After a heavy snowfall I was obliged to go to the grocery store some distance from home, plunging through deep snow all the way. The warmth of the store melted the snow which was clinging to me, and I had to return through the same high snow with wet clothing. Next morning the flesh was black from the tops of my shoes to the knees, and I could not walk. There was no telephone service anywhere near us and word had to go to a Christian Science practitioner by mail. Her work brought instantaneous healing. This Science has become such a part of myself that I scarcely remember being without it.
I am grateful to have a working understanding of this wonderful truth which Mrs. Eddy was the means of revealing to us through a life consecrated to God, good. I am most grateful for the spiritual awakening, and for the periodicals which bring to us so much of good.— West Englewood, New Jersey.
