While crossing a highly polished floor I slipped and fell. Great pain was immediately manifested in my arm, but instantly "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was remembered. The help of a practitioner was asked for and absent treatment was lovingly given, and half an hour later all pain had left me. A member of the family who is not studying Christian Science insisted on having a doctor, and also on having X-ray photographs taken. Desiring to maintain harmony I gave my consent, knowing that "there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (ibid., p. 424). Although the X-ray photographs were taken not more than an hour and a half after the fall, they showed that the arm had been broken in two places and that the bone was perfectly set. Indeed, the doctor said that he could not have set it more perfectly himself, and it was unnecessary for him to treat it in any way. The arm, however, was placed in a plaster cast, but in a very short time this was removed, as the doctor concluded that it was entirely unnecessary. No discomfort was felt in any way, and I was able to dress and undress myself without help, and to use my hand freely even when my arm was bound by the cast.
Such a healing is truly a proof of God's ever present help. Christian Scientists have, indeed, great cause to express gratitude for the truth which Mrs. Eddy has so lovingly given to the whole world.—Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
