About nine years ago Christian Science came to me in an hour of great need. I was troubled severely with boils, which usually came one or two at a time and covered a period of perhaps one year, during which I was never free from them. I tried every material remedy I could hear of and went steadily to our family physician, but without healing. Finally Christian Science was brought to my notice very forcibly through the healing of my wife of a condition which the physician said would require an operation. Her healing took place after three or four treatments from a Christian Science practitioner.
I called upon the same practitioner to help me, and to my great surprise in one or two treatments the pain had all gone, whereas before I could only sit around and suffer and could hardly move alone. This condition was entirely overcome in Christian Science with just a few treatments.
The above healing is only one of a great many I have had in Christian Science. The overcoming of physical and moral evils has since been taking place continually. I immediately took up the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, along with the study of the Bible, and became a regular attendant at an authorized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. I saw in this great study a refuge from the lies which mortal sense would try to impose upon one.
