I am most grateful for having been led to take up the study of Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy states in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 34), "If Christ, Truth, has come to us in demonstration, no other commemoration is requisite, for demonstration is Immanuel, or God with us; and if a friend be with us, why need we memorials of that friend?" God has truly been with us, and we have been able to prove this statement to be true.
My mother was healed of heart trouble in one Christian Science treatment, after material means had failed. One summer we had another wonderful demonstration of God's protecting care. My grandmother had a stroke, and to mortal sense the way ahead was very misty. However, God gave us courage, strength, and guidance, and in four weeks the healing was completed.
Three years ago my uncle fell from a scaffold, breaking his jaw. Work in Christian Science was immediately taken up, and in five treatments he was freed. These are only a few proofs of the power of God with us that we have experienced. For the healing and protecting power of Truth I am very grateful, but for the spiritual uplifting and regeneration that come from the understanding of God and His Christ, through study and acceptance of the truths contained in the Bible and our textbook, words fail me. The only way I can show my gratitude is in daily deeds.
