[Written for the Journal]

ATONEMENT

From the February 1931 issue of The Christian Science Journal

At-one with Thee, O Life divine,
The way, illumined, upward leads,
And from the shadowy valley winds,
For human sense no longer pleads.

At-one with Thee, O Truth divine,
False concepts vanish, errors fall,
For naught unlike Thyself finds place
Within the thought where Truth is all.

At-one with Thee, Thou Love divine,
No fear the loving heart can fill:
Above confusing mortal thought
Is heard again Thy "Peace, be still."

At-one with God—Life, Truth, and Love—
The vision clearer, broader grows:
And man in God's own image stands,
As his rich heritage he knows.
