I feel that words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science and the wonderful truth it has revealed to the world. During a period of about twenty years my children and I have had so many demonstrations of its healings that space would not permit me to enumerate them all.
The first healing I experienced in Christian Science was of a cancerous growth. Doctors had cut into the roots and applied a treatment which was excruciatingly painful. Meanwhile my mother had begun the study of Christian Science and had read a great deal to me. I had a fair knowledge of the Bible and of the efficacy of the Christ-healing. I had taught a class in Sunday school in a church of which I was then a member, and I always wondered why the healing message was so generally disregarded, as it seemed to me the Saviour's commands to heal the sick were just as imperative as his commands to heal the sinner; and when Christian Science was presented to me I realized that this was the truth I had always wanted. When my mother had read to me for a few weeks it came to me that Christian Science could heal the cancerous growth on my finger. I did not mention it to her or my husband, for I was so sensitive about the appearance of it. I went into my room, and prayed according to the understanding I had gained of Christian Science. I did not think of the finger again for about ten days, when I observed that the growth had entirely disappeared. That was about twenty years ago, and there has never been a return of the trouble.
Recently a rising came on my leg, just a small blister at first. I paid little attention to it until it began to swell; the pain became very great, and I saw that blood poisoning had set in. I immediately applied to a practitioner, and through his understanding of the truth I was healed in a few weeks. I feel very grateful that there is nothing in reality to fear, and no condition so serious that Christian Science cannot heal it. Grief, lack, and all the other ills of mortal mind can be destroyed by Christian Science; and we cannot be too grateful for Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us more explicitly the way of the Master, and who established the churches and the literature for our daily comfort and guidance.—Dilley, Texas.
