Christian Science came to my attention fourteen years ago, when we were living in the South and stopping in a home where there were several Christian Scientists. My husband became interested, and started reading the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly with one of them. I sat by and listened.
About that time I was taken with a severe attack of what had been diagnosed as inflammation of the gall duct. On previous occasions when these attacks had come, the doctor ha,d always advised an operation, but having a fear of operations I would not consent. When the doctor came this time he said to me, "It is the same old story; if you do not consent to an operation, please do not call me again." I then decided to try Christian Science. I called on a practitioner, and was healed in three treatments. At the same time I was healed of constipation and indigestion of years' standing. With joy and gratitude I can say that I have enjoyed freedom ever since.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction. For Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this truth, words are inadequate to express my gratitude.—Wichita, Kansas.
