My gratitude for physical and mental freedom gained through the study and application of Christian Science is unlimited. This religion held forth to the members of my family the loving invitation to "accept the 'glorious liberty of the children of God,' and be free!" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 227), We daily have cause to be grateful for having been led to accept this invitation and to taste the joys of this new spiritual freedom.
Through the study of Science and Health and the help of a loving practitioner I was healed quickly and permanently of a severe gathering in the head which came upon me each winter, causing extreme pain and leaving me with impaired sight and hearing. Through the continued study of this textbook and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, sight and hearing were completely restored, and these faculties have remained normal. This healing was experienced over seven years ago, and I have never again felt the need of glasses, which I laid aside at that time.
This is only one of the many proofs of the loving Father-Mother's protecting care which have come to me during the past few years, since I took up the earnest study of this Science. For the physical healings I am truly grateful, but more grateful for the mental freedom and spiritual understanding that are daily increasing in my consciousness, and for steady improvement in a hitherto unbearable disposition.
