With a glad and thankful heart I wish to testify to a quick healing brought about with the help of a loving practitioner. In the year 1919 I became acquainted with Christian Science through my dear mother-in-law, who had been a Christian Scientist for many years, and who had frequently told me of her many blessings and experiences. I saw the good in it, and tried to live in accordance with it, but did not go on wholeheartedly.
Suddenly I became seriously ill. A physician diagnosed the case as abscess of the tonsils, and prescribed certain remedies, which we did not get. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was lovingly extended to me. On the fifth day I got relief. In the evening of this day the doctor came with a surgeon, who tried to persuade me to let him lance the abscess. Beaming with joy, I told him the abscess had opened, and that I was very hungry. The doctor could hardly believe it, and had to convince himself. He was very much astonished, and all he could say was that such cases are often followed by other difficulties. However, I was completely healed through Christian Science.
