I desire to express my love and gratitude to God for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, whose teachings have interpreted Jesus' sayings to me, and healed me.
I had been under medical treatment from two to three years. Physicians pronounced my trouble tubercular pneumonia. Acting upon their advice I went to the hospital and had an operation performed. When I returned home I was informed by the physician that my lungs would be very weak. I had a sister who suffered with a similar complaint for seven years and then passed on, and I had a great fear that I should have a similar experience. I had been under the care of two conscientious physicians, one a lung specialist, and I am confident they did all they understood how to do to help me; but material means and methods failed to heal me.
A relative who had witnessed Christian Science healings in his own family urged me to have this treatment. When a Christian Science practitioner was called to our home I was confined to the bed most of the time. It was not long before I began to grow stronger, and my condition steadily improved. In one year I was pronounced healed by a lung specialist, who made an examination at the request of relatives.
