In 1913 I first became interested in Christian Science and bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and started to read it. Every moment that I could spare from my home duties I spent with the Bible and Science and Health. While I did not come into this Science for the healing of any physical ailment, I soon learned that it heals the sick. It has been my only physician and religion ever since; and it satisfies me. My first instantaneous healing took place many years ago, the healing of a severe pain on top of my head which I had had for four days. My husband took me to a practitioner and I came away well. When I caught my hand in an electric wringer while washing, my first thought was that absence of fear is presence of Mind, presence of God; and in a little while I was able to go on with my work. Each time I have had some trial to meet I have found that I afterwards understand a little more of God, divine Love.
