In the year 1897 I was healed through Christian Science of a fibroid tumor from which I had suffered from childhood. Doctors could do me no good, and an operation was impossible.
I had been an earnest student of the Bible and a member of an orthodox church for many years, and saw in the Bible God's promise of health, happiness, and long life to those who obeyed His laws; but I did not understand the Science of His laws. When I was in the depths of despair, a dear friend handed me Science and Health, saying, "Read this book and it will heal you." I had never heard of Christian Science before, but read faithfully and seemed to realize that God was talking directly to me; and in a few days I was healed of the tumor and many other diseases that had accompanied it. I was raised from invalidism and despair to health and happiness.
That was thirty-seven years ago, and I have had no return of old conditions, but to a great extent have exchanged a material sense of life for a spiritual sense of life and immortality. — Spokane, Washington.
