The testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel mean so much to me that I hope my contribution may help someone as I have been helped. It is not always testimonies of the most striking healings that help, I find, but sometimes an indication of patience, trust, and endurance in spite of small results.
I began to study Christian Science in 1921 and have relied on it ever since to solve every problem. Fear has always been a great difficulty, especially as regards my children. Yet I have learned that the greatest extremity of fear cannot prevent healing.
My severest trial came quite soon after I started studying Christian Science. Our eldest boy, then only two and a half years old, contracted a form of bone disease called osteomyelitis. As there were other wishes and convictions besides mine to be considered, he had material treatment for ten months and underwent eight operations. At the end of the ten months, to my unspeakable joy, he was taken away from doctors and surgeons altogether and none of the awful statements and prophecies made by the specialist were fulfilled, for the healing was gradually accomplished through Christian Science.
