It has been seventeen years since I was healed by Christian Science of tuberculosis and hemorrhages of the lungs. My turning to this Science for help was inspired by a loving aunt who, by much patience and compassion, persuaded my parents to send me to a practitioner. This consent was not given until after the family physician had said that there was no hope of my recovery. He had sent me to Colorado hoping that the climate there would make me well, but after I had spent several years there, I found that it did not bring healing.
I was given treatments by a Christian Science practitioner for a period of three or four months, and was healed. Since then I have had several proofs of this healing, one of which was the passing of a physical examination for the navy in 1918, and another the continuous good health I have enjoyed ever since.
This healing in itself was a big blessing to me, but it was only the beginning of the good that was to come to me from the study and application of Christian Science. The period from this first experience until now has been filled with the goodness of God, fulfilling the promises in the Bible, which are interpreted by our revered Leader through Science and Health, as well as her other writings. I am deeply grateful for the inspiration, direction, and protection that have come to me and mine from the activities of Christian Science.— Kansas City, Missouri.
