In the autumn of 1914 I first heard of Christian Science. At the time I was in great distress with heart attacks. I had both specialist and nurse, and was thankful to them for the love and help they gave me, still I did not seem to get any better. Then I met a friend who asked me to try Christian Science, and I was only too thankful to do so. After she had talked with me and explained that God is Love and knows nothing of a material heart, I pondered over this. Soon another attack came on, and I felt that if I could only get to see my friend she would be able to help me. In a moment came the words clearly to my consciousness, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." I thought, Why, I have to heal myself! And as I thought on these lines the difficulty fled and I was free. As other attacks came on I was most persistent in knowing this living truth, and in a while they faded away completely.
I have also been healed of a seizure, a fractured leg, laryngitis, inflammation of the bladder, and other things too numerous to mention.
I am indeed most thankful to God. the creator of all good; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to Mrs. Eddy, who revealed this living truth to our age, and gave us Science and Health, which is indeed a "key" to the Scriptures. I am grateful also for the Sunday school, for our church services and the Wednesday testimony meetings, which are most helpful; to the practitioners, Readers, and all who are taking an active part in the work; for the Reading Rooms and the Publishing House; for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction.— Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
