In 1913 a very dear friend introduced Christian Science to my mother, through whose study of this beautiful truth several of our family came into Christian Science.
I studied for quite a few years before I was really ready to seek "first the kingdom of God," but after a great deal of physical and mental agony, I was ready for this great truth. I have had many healings, such as one of a severe case of constipation in a few days, also an instantaneous healing of varicose veins after much suffering. The healing for which I am most grateful was of the use of intoxicating liquors. It took place over eight years ago. This healing was brought about in three treatments and has been complete. The transformation that has taken place in my thinking has been marvelous, proving the sentence in our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 1), "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God."
I can never be grateful enough to our dear Leader for giving us this beautiful privilege, available to all who are thirsty for the truth. I also wish to express gratitude for the help received from practitioners; and I am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church, as well as in a branch church.
