SERENITY

From the June 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God is so just. 0 weary heart,
It matters not what mortal sense
May seem to say;
Serene in His heaven
Your loving Father still holds sway.

God will not fail. O wondering heart,
The flashings of the mortal will
But seem to blind.
The vagaries of sense
Leave Love untouched, divinely kind.

God will not leave you. Searching heart,
Your God sees honest purpose right;
Throughout the day,
In night's dark hour,
Your Father watches all the way.

O trusting heart, God is at hand,
He will not leave you in distress;
You may be sure
That in His love
Your Father sees your motives pure.
