HOLDING STEADFASTLY TO GOOD

From the June 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On page 261 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy has given her students a reassuring rule which reads, "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts." How often these words have inspired the Christian Scientist to resist more vigorously the aggressive claims of error and abide steadfastly in Truth!

A continuous sense of health, expansive usefulness, and happy human relationships are the natural results of such fidelity.

One who is ignorant of God as Love, the unchanging divine Principle of the universe, may ask, What is truly good and enduring? Can happiness ever be permanent and satisfying? Then with an earnestness born of love and gratitude the student of this Science recommends the study of the beloved textbook, Science and Health. He knows the searcher will find on every page statements of the truth about Mind, God, which destroy fear and purify thought. On page 259 Mrs. Eddy says that "immortal ideas, pure, perfect, and enduring, are transmitted by the divine Mind through divine Science, which corrects error with truth and demands spiritual thoughts, divine concepts, to the end that they may produce harmonious results."
