Christian Science came into my life when I was a young child through the healing of my mother some forty years ago. For many years she had spent much time in bed because of chronic bilious attacks. Many foods had been forbidden in her diet, and physicians had said they could do no more for her. At this point Christian Science was presented to her by a kind friend, who herself had been healed by the blessed truth. In a very few treatments my mother was completely healed of the trouble and, at the same time, of severe varicose veins, and so restored to a life of useful activity. I was indeed grateful for my mother's healing and knew then that I could never be separated from the loving God who had healed her. Since that time Christian Science has been my only physician and help in every way, and I have been brought out of many trying experiences.
After receiving her healing, my mother was anxious to help someone else. I had been troubled for several years with warts on my hands, and at one time counted more than a hundred of them. Through my mother's loving work I was completely healed in a few weeks, not being conscious of the time when the warts disappeared. My father was healed instantaneously of the smoking habit of thirty-six years' standing, and also of the social drinking habit. His disposition and appearance improved noticeably, and he looked many years younger.
We have three grown-up children, who have never used medicine in any form. Scarlet fever, measles, mumps, whooping cough, tonsillitis, and so forth, have all been overcome in our home through the help of Christian Science. Some of the healings have been instantaneous.
