I have known of Christian Science since 1929, and since then I have experienced many proofs of its power to heal and to bless.
The first help I received was during a difficult obstetric case. A very skillful physician was present at the birth of my child, but my sister had heard of Christian Science, and with my permission she telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help. Half an hour later a healthy child was born normally. Several weeks later, when I read the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was inclined to ridicule and criticize it.
Two years later I became ill, and suffered severely from general nerve debility and neuralgia, which lasted for many years, and was accompanied by severe headaches. An acquaintance advised me repeatedly to have Christian Science help. I considered success from such help impossible, for the doctors, and especially the family doctor, had done their utmost to bring me relief. Finally, I was afflicted with eye trouble, and a skin disease which was said to be chronic. My sister presented me with the textbook, and I read as much as I thought my eyes allowed me to do, or had it read aloud to me. I at last began to understand that God is an ever-present help. I again asked the practitioner for treatment, and the healing was almost instantaneous. My child also has been healed of a swelling of glands. Since then we have often experienced God's loving care. Our healings have proved to me that God is the indestructible and eternal Life of man.
