Christian Science has been the only physician in our family for over a generation, and I wish to write of some of the benefits I have experienced through its application.
I did not become interested in Christian Science through physical healing for myself, but because I saw other members of my family healed of chronic dyspepsia, astigmatism, eczema, nervous prostration, and many minor ailments. I saw a growth which a physician had pronounced dangerous disappear after three months' treatment. I was later healed of pneumonia in less than a week through the work of a Christian Science practitioner.
Since that time, in an active business career which has taken me abroad and to every state in the Union, I have always been able to do what was expected of me easily and reasonably well. On several occasions, over a twenty-year period of such activity, I have asked for help in Christian Science before going on to the lecture platform, and in each case the treatment has been so effective that I did my work better than usual, and always with no ill effects. On one occasion, in a large city, I needed help quickly, and said to an attendant, "If there were only a Christian Science practitioner near by!" She answered, "There was one here a moment ago; but I know about Christian Science, and God is here and now, and will help you." In less time than it takes to write it, all was well, and I soon went about my business happily rejoicing in knowing that I was not alone, but was protected by God's love and care.
