With gratitude filling my heart for the Christian Science Sunday School, I should like to tell of a healing I had as a direct result of the teachings our children receive there.
When my eyes were opened to what Christian Science really is, my youngest daughter was seventeen years of age, very active in an orthodox Sunday school, and as prejudiced against Christian Science as I had been; but after I had studied Christian Science for a few months, she expressed a desire to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and she seemed very responsive to the teachings received there. One day, after she had had about a year's instruction, I was suddenly stricken almost speechless and motionless. She was alone with me, and helped me to bed. She asked if she should call other members of the family. Since they were not in sympathy with Christian Science, and I did not want a doctor called, I let her know by a shake of the head that I did not want them. Then she wanted to call a practitioner, and again I was impelled to say no.
She stood quietly looking down at me for a few moments, then brought her Bible and textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and sat down by my bedside and began to study. In a short while I was able to move my hands and speak a little. She kept on working and applying the truth as she had been taught, and soon I was able to read for myself the Bible and the textbook. For a day or two I was rather weak, but I gratefully acknowledge this healing to be directly due to the lessons this child had received in the Sunday school. This healing took place about seven years ago, and there has been no return of the trouble since that time. God has blessed me with many healings, but this one stands out in my thoughts as the most wonderful.
