Let the redeemed of the Lord...

From the August 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. ... Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"

I am one of those "redeemed from the hand of the enemy," and would praise the Lord "for his wonderful works." When I was suffering intense pain, and was under the care of a physician who advised one immediate operation, and perhaps two, my sister, who was studying Christian Science, gave me a copy of Dr. Lyman P. Powell's "Mary Baker Eddy: A Life Size Portrait," to read. When I had finished reading the book, about two days later, I was healed, and a tumor was painlessly ejected.

Three weeks later, a daughter who was almost twelve years old and had been an invalid from birth, was instantaneously healed when glimpsing something of the spiritual fact underlying the words, I said to her: "You are well." As she had never attended school, she had a great deal of lost time to make up, but through our realization that man reflects intelligence, she completed her course at the grammar school in three years and a half.
