"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p. vii). This statement has indeed been proved true in my experience over and over. Since I took up the study of Christian Science, every day has been "big with blessings."
I have had many healings through the study and application of Science. Many false traits of character have disappeared as I have gained a better understanding of God and man. Some of the physical healings which I have had are as follows: freedom from chronic tonsillitis; an instantaneous healing of chilblains, which had been so severe that I could not wear my shoes; and healings of burns, severe colds, toothache, high blood pressure, and of the effects of operations which had left me in a nervous and weak condition. All these healings occurred shortly after I started to study.
I have also been protected in accidents. One day I ran my hand through the wringer of the washing machine, and because I was for the moment confused, I reversed the wringer instead of releasing it, thus running my hand back through the rolls. I immediately declared the power of God, in whose presence there can be no accidents, and continued my washing. I suffered no pain at all, and by evening there was no material evidence of any discord. I am also grateful for the protection we experienced when our car collided with another car that was coming towards us very fast. There were seven in our car, but no one was hurt.
