FROM THE DIRECTORS

From the September 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Men serving with the armed forces of the allied nations in the United Kingdom are privileged to call upon Christian Science Officiating Ministers there, the same as those serving in the Forces of His Britannic Majesty. Although Christian Science chaplains are not provided in Great Britain, these Officiating Ministers (a designation approved by the Chaplain General's Department) for nearly two years have been serving Christian Scientists and others who desire their aid, in the several Army and Air Force Commands in Great Britain. A Christian Science Officiating Minister, stationed at Cairo, Egypt, is serving in the same capacity with the Middle East Forces. The service rendered is similar to that of Christian Science Chaplains and Wartime Workers with the armed forces of the United States.

Women ministers, designated as Christian Science Authorized Workers, were appointed several months ago to meet similar needs of the women in the Auxiliary Territorial Services in Great Britain.

Men and women serving in the allied forces, as well as their relatives and friends, who desire to get in touch with a Christian Science Officiating Minister or Christian Science Authorized Worker in Great Britain, may send their communications in care of the Christian Science Committee on Publication in London, whose address is Donington House, Norfolk Street, Strand, W.C. 2.
