STEADFASTNESS

From the September 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Whence cometh courage, but from thoughts of Thee?
The earth mists cannot hide the truth from me;
Who walks with God shall never go in fear,
For him the vision shines forever clear.
I will stand fast, and let my faith renew
Communion with the good, the pure, and true.

Whence cometh courage, but from thoughts of Thee?
Full faith alone achieves tranquillity,
And faith in Truth is understanding's gift.
I will be faithful, steadfast, true, and lift
My groping sense above the dark to light,
Rejoicing in my heritage of sight.
