In the Bible we read, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
My heart is filled with gratitude to God for the countless times that I have been comforted and blessed through the study and application of Christian Science. I was led to take up the study of this Science in the year 1918 through the healing of a twelve-year-old nephew of St. Vitus's dance. Shortly afterwards, during the so-called influenza epidemic in the winter of 1918-1919, I was quickly healed of that malady by absent treatment from a practitioner. A few months later my eyes were healed without my giving any specific thought to them. I had taken it for granted that I should have to wear glasses all my life, having worn them for twenty-one years and having been unable to get along for even a few moments without them. I was able to lay them off through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and through reading the Christian Science Sentinel. During this same year I experienced very harmonious childbirth. And through the intervening years I have been healed of hemorrhoids, dizzy spells, and rheumatism. I was also wonderfully comforted and sustained through Christian Science during the illness and passing on of a loved one.
I am very grateful for the love and loyalty of our practitioners, who are ever ready and willing to help us at all times and under any circumstances, and to Mrs. Eddy for the Christian Science periodicals.— Huron, South Dakota.
