Give me, O God, an understanding heart
Wherewith to judge Thy people, loved and great.
So prayed a Hebrew king, seeking to chart
His course with God, with God to rest its weight.
May we, as did King Solomon, the wise,
Seek understanding, tender, strong, and kind,
That we can meet the look in children's eyes,
And turn their hearts unswervingly to Mind!
