For many years Christian Science has been my only physician and has met my every need.
I was very ill with bronchial trouble and other distressing ailments when I turned to Christian Science for a healing. Prior to this I had searched for health in many climates, sometimes finding temporary relief. While in the West, where I had gone for my health, I received a letter from a friend who told me of a baby that was born blind to a couple we both knew. She said the child was healed through Christian Science. This healing impressed me very much and I wanted to return home to learn something of this Science, for I believed healing could come through prayer as Jesus taught.
As soon as I returned home I went to the Reading Room and purchased the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After reading the chapter on Prayer I decided this was the religion I had been longing for, and as I read further I tried to apply whatever I could understand. Finally I asked a practitioner for help. The first treatment healed me of stomach trouble, which I had had from babyhood. I was not aware this healing had taken place at first, because my whole thought was centered on receiving the one healing for which I had taken up the study of Christian Science; however, I was greatly benefited and relieved of much distress. As I learned to count my many blessings with gratitude, I found that false beliefs faded away.
