For the joy and peace which Christian Science has brought to me, and for what it is doing for the world today, I am most grateful to God.
I knew little about Christian Science when I had my first healing. While I was driving with a relative, the door of the car was accidentally closed on my finger. I was in tears from the pain, and when my cousin asked if she might help me, I agreed, although not very graciously. To my surprise the pain was gone in a few minutes, and there were no aftereffects.
Later I purchased a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. During the next ten years I read the Lesson-Sermon, attended church and the lectures, and relied on Christian Science when confronted with physical difficulties. But I did not let my religion interfere with my good times. Then a testing time came. I became ill with a nervous condition. Although I was away from the office for just a few weeks, it was many months before I was completely healed.
