"Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." As one who for almost fifteen years has been drawing water from the wells of salvation which God has given us in Christian Science, I write this testimony with joy.
The first dawning of the working of Truth in my consciousness came with an understanding of Jesus' words, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." I saw very clearly that we must know that the healing has already taken place, is already ours, at the time when we pray. "The facts of divine Science should be admitted, —although the evidence as to these facts is not supported by evil, by matter, or by material sense,—because the evidence that God and man coexist is fully sustained by spiritual sense," declares Mrs. Eddy on page 471 of Science and Health.
The many blessings and healings I have received in Christian Science crowd in upon my thoughts as I write. In two treatments I was completely healed of a painful sinus condition, which recurred every winter. Constipation, necessitating daily use of medicines since early childhood, was healed during two weeks of Christian Science treatment. No medicines or medical treatments of any kind have been resorted to since then. The use of glasses for reading was found unnecessary seven years ago, when the glasses were lost, just after I had been studying Mrs. Eddy's words about "sight" on pages 33 and 34 of "Unity of Good." I realized that the glasses were but one more material dependency which had become unnecessary for me as I became more and more dependent upon God. I am grateful that during a period of almost fifteen years I have not had to miss one day from my work because of ill-health.
