It has been several years since I have given a testimony, and because I derive so much good from reading the testimonies of others, I feel that perhaps someone might enjoy reading mine. My heart overflows with gratitude and praise to God and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science and for the numerous blessings that have been mine since taking up its study. I am also very grateful for having had the privilege of class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's students. I greatly appreciate having the periodicals, and am very grateful for the radio broadcasts of services and programs of Christian Science, for there is no Christian Science church or society near me.
I have experienced physical healings of various illnesses, including sick headache and gallstones, as well as of periods of discouragement and worrying. Our son has also been healed and protected. Several years ago, he had trouble with his back. He was examined by a doctor, who informed him that he had three misplaced vertebrae, and that it would be necessary for him to leave work for some time. Thanks to God, he was healed almost instantly by reading the Christian Science Sentinel, and we are convinced that his healing is complete, for he successfully passed a physical examination and was accepted into the Marine Corps.
He has been most wonderfully protected since being overseas, and passed through the Tarawa experience quite unharmed. "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," writes Mrs. Eddy on page 494 of Science and Health. The ninety-first Psalm is of great comfort to me in these troublesome times, as are the twenty-third Psalm and various statements from Mrs. Eddy's writings. For all these blessings I am more grateful than words can express.— Bethel, Missouri.
