It is with sincere gratitude to God for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me that I give this testimony, knowing that in these times of global turmoil many are seeking relief from the belief of separation and grief.
When an only son twelve years of age passed on, I was as one "having no hope, and without God in the world." It was then that such an experience as our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, records in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 559), became mine: "The inaudible voice of Truth is, to the human mind, 'as when a lion roareth.'" And she continues: "Then will a voice from harmony cry: 'Go and take the little book.... Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.' Mortals, obey the heavenly evangel. Take divine Science. Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it."
I must record the manner in which the Christian Science textbook came into our home, for it has always been a source of inspiration and wonderment, and proof of God's great care and provision for His children. The young son referred to above rescued a copy of the Bible and our textbook from some books being discarded, and brought them home. Our textbook was ready and waiting to be opened when I was ready and willing to "take the little book... and eat it up." This was what I did for several years following the passing on of that loved one. Reading this book and studying the many promises of the Bible with reference to the eternality of Life healed me. Today my joy is great and my prayer is that I may be able to help others to know God as Life, eternal and omnipresent.
