For over thirty years Christian Science has been my daily guide, my only and ever-present physician. For its uplifting and healing effect in my life I can never be grateful enough.
Christian Science was first presented to me in a way that convinced me at once that it truly heals, although I did not begin to study it until a year or two later. I had been wearing glasses for fourteen years, and felt so dependent upon them that I always had two pairs. When I was away from home for a week end, one lens of the pair I was wearing was broken, and the other pair was not with me. Almost immediately, upon returning, I broke the same lens in the other pair. This was a challenge to me to prove my faith in the power of Christian Science. A friend took me to call on a practitioner, with whom I discussed the problem. I went to work for myself, with the textbook, and in a few weeks my sight was better than it had ever been, and I was able to use my eyes for everything, with no ill effects. I was so unfamiliar with Christian Science practice at the time that I did not know the practitioner had really given me a treatment.
Since that time I have been healed of various ills, and have manifested more and more freedom from disease as the blessed truths of Christian Science have unfolded in my consciousness. Colds and sore throat, which were formerly regarded as necessary companions during the winter season, have practically disappeared as a result of my regular study of the Bible and the textbook, although no specific work has been done on these problems.
