With a deep desire to help others who may be laboring with a slow healing I give this testimony.
I took up the study of Christian Science for the healing of a malignant growth. The fear was so great that it took many months, with the help of a consecrated practitioner who worked, sometimes night and day, to uproot it. Many unlovely traits of character had to be uncovered and cast out before the healing came.
Soon after help was sought for this condition, a wonderful revelation came to me which I have since come to understand as the appearing of the Christ, Truth. This was such a lovely experience that for three days I felt as though I were treading on holy ground. Then this light seemed to leave me, and once again I sank to the very depths of despair. Step by step I had to grow into a greater understanding of Truth. At first I felt barely able to hold on and was greatly discouraged. Gradually, however, as I studied the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works, looking away from the physical body to Spirit, I became stronger and fear began to disappear.
