THE NIGHT WATCH

From the June 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Think not, O sentry in the dark
Of dismal hours that know no light,
That you must stand your watch alone;
God watches with you in the night.

No fear can cause His hand to fall,
No weariness can dim His sight.
His power can never fail to shield;
Love watches with you in the night.

Stand firm, my brave young sentinel,
In calm assurance of God's might.
You are His son and He loves you,
And watches with you through the night.
