"After this is accomplished the brave new world begins."—Kipling.
THERE is a conviction with many in the world today that material wellbeing is the alpha and omega of existence. All, they say, depends on this; the pursuit of it leads, among other things, to a line-up of employers and employed, the "haves" and "have nots," all concerned in differing degree with the getting and retaining of material wealth.
This approach to life is quite the opposite of that visualized in the Scripture: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt. 6:33). Indeed, the material design for living is one of the fundamental causes of war, for it is based on getting instead of giving.
