"THERE IS NONE ELSE"

From the October 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Although unchanging Truth be misconstrued,
No mortal fear or failure may reverse
All-loving Mind, which can impose no curse,
Whose purpose is undeviating good,
Whose will, with power invincible imbued,
Maintains the rhythm of the universe,
Whose happy law it is that we rehearse
With reverence and prayerful gratitude.
And though, as if asleep, we should forget,
His holy Word remains forever true,
His ample blessing rests upon us yet
To comfort and deliver and renew.
Should it seem otherwise, let us recall
"There is none else" but good, the All-in-all.

Beyond earth's misconceptions we may see
The man of God's creating wholly blessed,
Nor harbor fears of being dispossessed
Of riches held in perpetuity.
Secure in Love's completeness, man is free
Of envy, by no lack or want obsessed.
He hails his brother as a fellow guest
Of heaven, harmony his joyful plea.
For Truth alone can purge the world of wrong,
Compassionately cleanse it of its guilt,
And, judging righteous judgment, make us strong
To live the Word, till heaven on earth be built,
And out of falsehood into kindly fact
Love's world emerge, united and intact.
