The practice of Christian Science reveals and demonstrates the omnipotence of good and the consequent impotence of evil. It is apparent that this modus operandi of Christianly scientific practice enriches human experience with countless blessings. It is the one method which will solve mankind's problems of peace and security.
Peace is not a mere cessation of warfare any more than health is a mere cessation of physical ills. Peace, like health, is a spiritual idea, and the Principle of this idea is God, Spirit, not matter; Truth, not error. Such being its nature, peace cannot be displaced by human warfare or by the threat of warfare, but remains to be continually revealed, discerned, felt, understood, and enjoyed. Wherever and whenever individual human thought is released from the false subjugation imposed by mortal mind, alias human will, peace may be realized as the true and present status of being. No one need wait on human events or so-called external conditions to be at peace or to feel secure.
Peace is shown by Christian Science, the law of God, to be not at the mercy of so-called military science, atomic control, willful transgression, or predatory aggression. From the study of this Science one may find definite rules for the demonstration of peace in individual and universal affairs. For instance Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 278), "Peace is the promise and reward of rightness." And on the next page she declares that "the Principle of Christian Science demonstrates peace." Therefore the only way by which real peace may be attained is through the understanding and demonstration of Christian Science.
