For over twenty years, Christian Science has been my greatest blessing, and I do not have words to express my gratitude for the privilege of studying and applying this great truth which Mrs. Eddy has made so plain to us.
I took up Christian Science for the healing of a so-called incurable condition, and soon experienced perfect health. There have been other problems along the way, but that particular condition has never returned.
The practical value of Christian Science has been proved to me many times and in many ways. At the time that I was looking forward to class instruction and planning to meet the expense connected therewith, "a still small voice" recommended that I not only save the money in advance, which I was doing, but that I take out of the bank what I had saved and put it away where it would be safe. At first I thought such a plan was too foolish for consideration, for the money certainly seemed safe where it was. But each day the thought came so insistently that I felt that in some way I was being protected. Little by little I withdrew the money from the bank until I had sufficient laid aside to meet any expense that might develop in a two weeks' stay away from home. Early the following spring came the "bank holiday," and the bank where I kept my money never reopened for business. Shortly afterward, when the time came for class, I had all I needed for the trip. What a joy class was, and how I appreciated freedom from the thought of a debt! I was grateful to have proved once more that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need'' (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494).
