RECOMPENSE

From the April 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Arise, and go
Into a street called Straight,
And find a man named Saul.
Heal him, for, behold, he prayeth."

So came the voice,
And, startled, Ananias made reply,
"But, Lord, this man is persecuting Christians,
And his purpose in Damascus now is plain;
Yet, if this be Thy will, 0 Lord,
Confirm the word, and I will go."

With gentle urgency the vision spake,
"Go now thy way, and bear my name;
He is a chosen vessel unto me."
