The following testimony is given in gratitude to God for His loving protection and guidance.
After holding a position for a number of years, I suddenly found myself confronted with the necessity of having to look for a new one, because the company with which I was employed had failed. Some of the employees were without positions overnight, but the department with which I was connected continued to function for some time before notice was given that my work was about to terminate.
My first reaction was disappointment because I had no place to go to. A number of my co-workers had succeeded in obtaining other positions, and I felt that my situation might reflect upon the efficacy of Christian Science to meet one's need. Within a few minutes an angel thought awakened me to the fact that here was an opportunity to get closer to God. For a long time I had had a strong desire to be able to devote more time to the study of Christian Science, and immediately I resolved to endeavor to spend at least three hours each morning studying.
