The reading in the Journal and the Sentinel of testimonies of healing brought about through the application of Christian Science has always left me with a great sense of gratitude for what this religion has done and is doing for all mankind.
It was my privilege to be enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of five. There I learned the basic truths that have helped me many times in daily problems.
One summer while riding with my brother on our ponies, I was brushed from the saddle by a branch of a tree, because I had missed a turn in the path we were riding. As I fell to the ground my foot caught in the stirrup. Immediately I repeated aloud "the scientific statement of being" found on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My pony did not move one step farther until I was freed.
