For the peace and harmony which have...

From the June 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For the peace and harmony which have come into my life through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science, I should like to express my gratitude to God through the periodicals.

My first experience with Christian Science was about thirty-eight years ago. I had suffered for months from neuritis in the left shoulder and arm, and it was impossible for me to lift my arm to my head. I had tried many methods of healing, such as medicine, osteopathy and electric treatments, but had received only temporary help. I was told that if I continued to use the arm I would probably lose the use of it entirely.

We are told that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and finally I decided to try Christian Science, although I knew nothing about it except that it taught healing through prayer. I telephoned a practitioner and made an appointment to see her at seven in the evening. I returned home entirely free from the pain in my arm, and have never had a return of the difficulty. Through this experience I learned that Science heals.
