It is with a deep sense of love and gratitude...

From the June 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a deep sense of love and gratitude to God for His goodness that I submit this testimony.

I have been a student of Christian Science for twelve years, and the blessings I have received have been manifold. Some of the healings that have taken place in our family have been those of a severe burn on the eyeball, caused by a hot curling iron, tonsillitis, a sprained ankle, measles, scarlet fever, quinsy, boils, and a wrenched knee; also, lost articles have been found and business problems solved through the application of Science. For these healings I am truly grateful, but in contrast they seem small compared to the blessings of a greater awareness of God, of what He is, of man's relation to Him, and of a workable knowledge of this wonderful Science of being as taught by Mary Baker Eddy in our textbook, Science and Health.

I loved the Lord's Prayer, and the interpretation our Leader gives us on pages 16 and 17 of the textbook did much to make it clearer and dearer to me. I did not honestly feel, however, that it met every need, as Mrs. Eddy says it does (p. 16). I was led to make a study of it, word by word, and line by line, and I shall never cease to be grateful for the unfoldment which came to me. I know now why Mrs. Eddy says it will cover every human need. It is a wellspring of joy and healing in my experience, and I use it daily. Through this prayer many blessings have been experienced, among them the guidance and protection of our son since he has been in the service of his country.
