I am most grateful to God for giving...

From the May 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am most grateful to God for giving us Christian Science. I am especially grateful for the protecting power of good which we are able to make use of through the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Through the study of Christian Science I have seen many unpleasant traits of character disappear, and also have had many physical healings.

Since childhood I had had a very annoying corn on one of my toes. I heard and read testimonies of healing of this trouble and always thought that if others could be healed I could too, but that is as far as I went. One day the thought came to me that corns were hard spots which might be the result of hard thoughts. It was quite an awakening, and I immediately started to replace all thoughts of hate and resentment with love for all mankind. In a very short time the corn disappeared. I was not only rid of a very painful condition, but had learned a beautiful lesson of love.

My knowledge of Christian Science was of inestimable value in the care of our two children. Through my study of Christian Science, as well as their own, they were beautifully taken care of when trouble threatened.
