It is with profound gratitude that I take this opportunity to testify to some of the many healings I have had through the application of Christian Science.
About five years ago I found myself confronted with a physical trouble which was alarming. At first I tried to handle it through my own understanding of Science, but as my condition grew worse I finally called a practitioner for help. Treatment was begun, but for some time there was no decided improvement. This I realized was because of the limitation and stagnation which continued to characterize my thinking and which were manifesting themselves on the body in congestion and limited respiration. Because my church activity had been curtailed by wartime restrictions on transportation, I had felt that I could not advance spiritually. I was also dissatisfied with my environment. As I reversed this wrong thinking, however, knowing that man is always free, unlimited in right activity, and not dependent on environment for spiritual development, my physical condition began to improve, and in a short time I found that the difficulty had completely disappeared.
I am grateful for a recent healing of eyestrain, which seemed to have been caused by working continuously under poor artificial light. Working on this in Christian Science, I realized that the light of the spiritual understanding of God's allness is in reality the only light there is, and that man lives in this light. I found that as I manifested the God-given attributes of accuracy, alertness, and perfection, my daily tasks became easier and could be done in less time, and I had no sense of mental strain. Thus, as I gained a correct understanding of light and overcame a sense of strain, my eyesight became normal.
