It is with the deepest gratitude that I give my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science.
Twenty-five years ago I was suffering intensely from what an orthopedic doctor pronounced a sagging back, caused by lifting. My back was heavily strapped, and the specialist's verdict was that unless I remained in bed and avoided all lifting and heavy work I would soon be a helpless invalid. Our family consisted of my husband and three young sons, and, with a house to care for, it seemed impossible for me to follow the doctor's directions.
At the same time one of our children had a very annoying difficulty for which even a child specialist could give no remedy. We had always belonged to an orthodox church and knew nothing of the teachings of Christian Science. A close neighbor, however, was a Scientist, and in great discouragement I went to her and asked her if Christian Science could help the child. She assured me that it most certainly could, and told me to see a practitioner. I shall never fail to be grateful that I followed the practitioner's advice and borrowed from the Reading Room our first copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. As I was unable to work, I began reading this wonderful revelation of Truth.
