During the past thirty-six years I have enjoyed, through Christian Science, blessings too numerous to mention.
The first healings I experienced were those of chronic sick headaches, which were among my earliest remembrances, and chronic sore throat. These were both healed in one treatment. Many other healings followed. A foot which was so badly crushed that four doctors said amputation would be necessary was completely healed in seven weeks through Christian Science treatment. Inflammatory rheumatism of some five years' standing, which had exhausted the skill of five specialists, was completely overcome through Christian Science.
A broken back, which resulted when I was thrown from a horse while riding in front of a column of some five hundred riders, was quickly healed. As I was thrown, these two statements of Mrs. Eddy's in Science and Health came to me (p. 424): "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection;" and (p. 468), "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in all." Although a large number of the riders behind me in the column ran over me, I was not touched by a single hoof. I was picked up unconscious and taken to the first-aid station. There I very soon regained consciousness and began declaring aloud the glorious truths about God and His wholly good creation, as taught in Christian Science.
